Raleigh “GP” Single Speed

Vintage Raleigh Grand Prix from the early 80’s, this is a beautiful steel lugged frame with matching fork, frame set is made with Reynolds 531 tubing with nice lugs and pantographed fork crowns and seat tubes with the Raleigh logo, both rear drops are stamped Raleigh as are the fork tips and have braze ons for fenders and/or racks. Color is a light Teal with white graphics that are in great condition for its age, model is Grand Prix. Below is a list of new and lightly used components used to rebuild this hot rod.

 

Wheel set is a brand new pair of Weinmann DP18 Deep V’s Black with machined brake surface, laced to a pair of black, high flange Formula flip flop hubs with stainless spokes. Brand new velox rim tape, tubes and a pair of 700×25 Seca Serfas FPS pumped up to 120psi.

 

Drive train starts with new Shimano BB UN-54, 175 SR crank set pantographed Raleigh, with a Cannondale 46t chain ring, and 16t freewheel connected with a new KMC 3/32 chain.

 

Brake set consists of the original Diacompe “G” side pull brakes with NOS pads and wheel guides for that quick flip of the rear hub. New top bar inline brake pulls with new cables and housing.

Cockpit is a pair of SR road bars that have been flopped and chopped and wrapped with new gel tape, Technomic 60mm quill stem and a Laprade seat post and an older Specialized seat.

 

Great bike that has been carefully put together with very good quality new and used parts.

 

 

 

Raleigh Super Course Vintage Road Bike

Here is an ’85 Raleigh Super Course 54cm, this is a double butted 555 steel frame and fork that is fully chromed with the center triangle painted dark blue, all graphics are original with minimal scuffs and nicks in the chrome and paint and looks very good for its age. Both fork crown and seat stays are pantographed with the Raliegh logo. This bike has been totally overhauled, lubed, trued and put back together using the original gruppo. Wheelset has been freshly trued, tensioned and bearings packed the hubs are Raleigh branded Sansin hubs laced to polished silver Araya rims with stainless spokes, wheelset sports new velox rim tape, tubes and Hutchinson Kevlar racing tires 700×23 pumped up to about 115 psi. Drive train is the Shimano vintage 105 Golden Arrow gruppo that is in perfect condition, front and rear derailleur and down tube levers are pantographed with the Golden Arrow logo which is a series of swirls and arrow, nice. 52t-42t SR crank and a 6 speed Shimano cluster 13t-28t, freshly packed Shimano BB, no pedals. Brakes are a very rare pair of Dia-Compe AC300G racing brakes and matching levers with brand NOS hoods in grey. Seat post, stem and handle bars are Sakae SR, freshly packed Hatta headset. The chain, crank bolts, all cables and housing, bar wrap and skewers are all brand new.

 

 

Trek 560 Pro Series

This is an ’83 Trek 560 Series 56cm, she was built in Waterloo, WI using 501 Reynolds steel and is all black with silver and red graphics. She has been rebuilt to her former glory using period appropriate components that are listed below.

  • Wheelset is a pair of 32h Sansin sealed and freshly packed silver hubs laced with stainless spokes to a pair of Matrix Titan S black anodized 700c box rims wrapped with new rim tape, tubes and Specialized all condition 700×28 tires, with new black skewers, very smooth and sexy.
  • Front and rear derailleurs are vintage Suntour Cyclone M-II with Suntour Barcon barend shifters, with new cables, rear cassette is Shimano with 6 cogs 13-24and a brand new Z chain, shifts like a dream.
  • Crankset is a Sakae CR double 52-42 Sakae rings with a new Shimano BB UN-54 68×122.5.
  • Brakes are a pair of black anodized Dia Compe AC500 GX with new pads, cables and housing. The pulls are matching Dia Compe AC500 GX.
  • Sakae drop bars and stem that have been wrapped with new black bar wrap.
  • Freshly packed black Tange Levin headset, black Truvativ seat post with a WTB saddle.

This black beauty has been fully lubed and overhauled and is ready for the next adventure, this is the bike that was part of my main stable during the 2010 summer, she sold at the beginning of the 2011 summer and has been adventuring in Montana, California, Colorado and now back in Oregon.
