Mizutani Seraph 58cm
27 Aug
This was the bike that set gmancycles in motion.
Bought the bike for around $100, stripped it and had it powder coated at a local shop here in Tigard. I built this thing up pretty quick, rode it for a few months and sold it, on to the next.
Fresh build of a 70’s Mizutani Seraph, she has been stripped, dipped and powder coated orange. She is all steel and has been nicknamed Orange “Krush”. Here is a list of parts that was used to put this urban assault bicycle onto the streets again. Wheels are black XRP Vuelta hubs laced to black Alex 700c rims with chrome spokes, the rear hub is flip/flop with free wheel and fixed gear threads, rubber is Ritchey Speed Max 700 x 32. She is powered by a pair of black Suigino 172.5 cranks with black 42 tooth chain ring and black bash guard. The drive train spins on a brand new Tange sealed bearing BB 68×110 and a new Shimano 16t freewheel with a beefy KMZ chain. Head set is a brand new Ritchey Logic threaded to a Zoom stem with an attached Guizzo 110mm and attached to that is a sweet pair of Nitto bullhorns wrapped with new black Salsa bar tape. This baby will stop on a dime with new Soma cross top pulls, new Jagwire cables hooked up to a pair of new silver long reach Tektro R556 brakes. Simple Kalloy seat post and seat, and simple black Forte pedals. Love this ride, and would keep but the mission is to rid the garages and basements of decent bikes and make the Great urban assault bikes! Size is 58cm
