Bianchi “Virata” Road Bike
5 Dec
2006 Bianchi Virata 56cm, Frame/fork is 56cm and is a combo of Dedaccai steel and carbon fiber. Rear stays are the carbon fiber Black Box and the fork is carbon with factory paint to match the frame. A beautiful bike that is very light, has that great steel feel with the light weight feeling of carbon. Paint is in good shape and there are no dings just a couple of paint flecks here and there from normal use.
Gruppo is a complete Shimano Ultegra 6600 with a double up front and 10 speeds on the rear, BB, brakes, cranks, cassette, both deraillers and shifters are all 6600. Headset is a VP Aheadset that was repacked with grease, smooth. Wheelset is a pair of Ksyrium Equipe that are in great shape and roll perfectly true, I just wrapped them in a new pair of Michelin Carbons.
New pads, new cables, new bar wrap, new tubes and tires, bike was completely dismantled, cleaned, overhauled and rebuilt a few weeks ago.
Here is a piece from the Bianchi catalog:
We love the ride of steel, especially the ride of super-light Dedacciai EOM tubing. We’re talking really light, with wall thicknesses of just 0.45mm in some of the thinnest butted sections. The main triangle is mated to the integrated Deda Black Tail/Black Box carbon seatstays and chainstays, for a solid ride that climbs and descends like a bat out of you know where. The Virata is for the discerning rider who wants something different from the sea of aluminum bikes, with a noticeable ride that no other frame material can deliver.
